Michael F. O´Riley, age 79, of Woburn formerly of Somerville, passed away September 30th, following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Edythe R. (White). Born in Mt. Chase, ME he was the son of the late Annie (Nadeau) and Bryan O´Riley. Mr. O´Riley served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy he settled in Somerville for a number of years. Mr. O´Riley worked for over forty years as a Meat Cutter with the A&P Grocery Stores and also worked part time for a number of years as meat cutter for the Hill Top Steak House. He was a past member of the American Legion Post 101 and also enjoyed boating over the years. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Michael´s memory to Hospice Preferred Choice, 28 Washington St. Wellesley, MA 02481.
In addition to his late parents, Mr. O´Riley is preceded in death by his sisters; Catherine Markos, Mary Perkins, Agnes O´Riley and brothers; Bryan and Hiliary O´Riley. He is survived by his beloved wife Edythe R. (white) and children, Michael J and Paul J. O´Riley both of Arizona, and Nancy J. O´Riley of Woburn. He was the loving step father of Robin Sutherby of Shirley, Cynthia McLaughlin, Kimberly Pike and William Pike all of Woburn. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Brother of Florence Skerba of California and Paul O´Riley of New Hampshire.
A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Saturday, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
