JOSEPH THOMAS LYONS
8/28/1928 – 11/25/2013
Joseph Thomas Lyons, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at his Santa Paula home.
Joe was born August 28, 1928 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to the late John and Marion (Owens) Lyons. He served honorably in the United States Army. After returning from the service in 1949 he met the love of his life, Joan Perry. They were married March 1955 and moved to West Hills, CA where they raised their family.
Joe worked for the United States Postal Service for 35 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, camping, trips to Las Vegas, and was a lifelong fan of the New England Patriots.
Joe will be greatly missed by his wife of 58 years, Joan Lyons, and three children: Debbie (Jerry), Janis (William) and Joe (Judy); and six grandchildren: Amber, Courtney, Cheston, Chase, Sage and Tia; and five great grandchildren: Marc, Genesis, Niki, Tyler, and Carson; and survived by three of his seven siblings: Gerald, Anne, and Ellen.
On Monday, November 25th, 2013, Joe made his final journey home. In his 85 years, he left us with a lot of wonderful memories. We will hold him dear in our hearts as his legacy lives on forever.
Family and friends are invited to the visiting hours Monday morning December 2, 2013 from 8:30 to 10AM at Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home, 757 East Main Street, Ventura, CA 93001.
