Emilienne (Pratte) Theriault, 102, formerly of Eddie Dowling Hwy. North Smithfield, died peacefully Friday November 15, 2013 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Joseph Lionel Theriault.
Born on May 26, 1911 in Plainfield, CT., she was a daughter of the late Leon and Adeleine (Sanschagrin) Pratte.
Emilienne came to Woonsocket as a child and attended St. Anne’s School and graduated from Woonsocket High School, Class of 1930. She went on to attend the Rhode Island College of Pharmacy & Allied Sciences in Providence graduating in 1933.
Along with her family she operated the former Pratte’s drugstore on Elm St. in Woonsocket.
Emilienne was a member of the Quota Club (serving as club President in 1938-1939) and the Woonsocket Business & Professional Women’s Club. She was a member of the RI Pharmaceutical Association, Lambda Kappa Sigma Society and was a longtime communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish.
She is survived by two nieces Jeannette Baldelli and her husband Charles and Michelle Gentes. She was the sister of the late Arthur N. Pratte, Rita L. Pratte, Yvette B. Pratte, Yolande J. Gentes, and Irene Sarrasin.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Ave. North Smithfield, RI. 02896.
