Maria I. de Melo, age 78, of Westport, passed away on November 22, 2013 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the loving daughter of Jose and Evangelina (Melo) Jorge and the wife of Manuel de Melo. Maria was a parishioner of Espirito Santo. She loved playing bingo.
Maria was the loving mother of Joseph Mello (wife Frances) of NJ, Debra August (husband Scott) of N. Dartmouth and David DeMello (wife Erica) of Westport; sister of Maria V. Monteiro and Norberto Jorge both of Swansea; grandmother of Delia, Scott, Kevin, Amanda, RJ and Scotty Mo.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on MONDAY here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Espirito Santo Church at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on SUNDAY from 4-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
