Matthew Ryan Guest, ‘Matt’ of Braintree passed away on Thursday, November 21st. Matt was the dearly loved son of Joan Kirby, beloved brother of the late Terry Tortora and the devoted Uncle and Godfather of Sean Armand, all of Braintree. His family was very important to him. Matt is also survived by many endearing aunts, uncles and cousins.
Matt was born in Rockland. He was currently enrolled as a Nursing Student at Quincy College. Matt was committed to his studies and had been looking forward to working in the medical field with a deep passion. He was a loyal donor to the Red Cross Blood drives for many years. Matt also attended Massasoit College after graduating High School. He worked many years in the food industry as a professional cook. Matt also was a former member of the Sprinkler Fitters Union.
Matt was an enthusiastic sports fan. He thoroughly enjoyed his Boston sports teams and positively was a true Bruins and Patriots fan! Matt himself enjoyed fishing and loved cooking for his family. He was a kind spirited person who always greeted people warmly.
Family and close friends are invited to the private visiting hours being held at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Saturday, November 30th, 11AM to 12:30 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the Funeral Home starting at 12:30 PM followed by the Interment held at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Randolph.
