Marguerite J. Kashtan, 94

Marguerite J. (Cataloni) Kashtan, age 94, of Mansfield passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Easton.
She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Kashtan to whom she was wed for over 41 years at the time of his death on June 26, 1988.
Born in Foxboro, MA on October 15, 1919, she was a loving daughter of the late John and Eleanora (Gaeta) Cataloni. She grew up in Foxboro and was a graduate of Foxboro High School.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Kashtan had worked as a quality control inspector at Texas Instruments in Attleboro. She had previously been employed at the Foxboro Co. and the former Norton & Mansfield Telephone Exchange.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 65 years, Marguerite was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. She had a passion for painting and was recognized for her award winning painting of Pope John Paul II.
Mrs. Kashtan enjoyed photography and solving daily crossword puzzles. She was a devoted fan of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, and the Boston Red Sox. Marguerite will always be remembered for the kindness she showed towards animals.
She is survived by her devoted children, Robert J. Kashtan and his wife Paulette of Tampa, Florida, Michael R. Kashtan and his wife Rose of Tampa, Florida, Marguerite Panagopoulos of Mansfield and the late Walter J. Kashtan. She was the dear sister of the late Lena Gonsalves, Menta Alves, Teresa Rodgers, Christine Rocheleau, Nora May, Jane Purrier, Ralph Cataloni and John Cataloni. She is also survived by her cherished 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 26th at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours have been omitted and those wishing may remember Marguerite with a donation in her memory made to the Mansfield Animal Shelter, P.O Box 25, Mansfield, MA 02048.
