Thomas J. Willard, age 81, of West Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died November 20, 2013 at St. Joseph Manor following a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Gloria A. (Conley) Willard. Born in Weymouth, and raised in Rockland, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Agnes L. (Fielding) Willard. Tom was a graduate of Rockland High School and had been employed for many years by various local supermarkets, gas stations and liquor stores. He was an Army veteran of Korea and attended many Korean War Reunions. He enjoyed time playing baseball and fishing with his grandson Dylan, who he helped raise from birth, and also enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren, the Boston Red Sox and watching Jeopardy.
He is survived by his children Cheryl A. Willard of Hagerstown, MD, Laurie A. Blye and her husband Glenn, Faith M. Willard and Timothy J. Willard all of West Bridgewater; three grandchildren Jessica L. Blye, Michael D. Blye and Dylan M. Willard all of West Bridgewater; a sister Mary A. Kelly of Rockland and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Kennith M. Willard and brother of the late Joseph F. Willard.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 10-11am followed by a Service at 11am. Burial with Military Honors in Calvary Cemetery. Please consider donations in Tom’s name to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
