Emily (Costa) Almeida, 91 passed away October 31, 2013 in Charlton Memorial Hospital. Wife of the late Joseph Almeida. Daughter of the late Bento and Mary (Silvia) Costa. She lived in the north end of Fall River for many years. Emily worked as a waitress for many years. She also worked as a coupon/demo lady in Shaws and many Walmarts. She loved to travel, country music and especially her home and yard work.
She especially loved her family, her only son Joseph Almeida Jr. (wife Kathy); grandsons Adrian Almeida (wife Christine), Jonathan Almeida (wife Katlyn); four great grandchildren Olivia and Quincy Almeida and Amanda and Brett Yates. She loved her companion dogs Stella and Taloula, who misses her very much. Sister to the late Antone Costa, Manuel Costa, Mary Da Costa, Hilda Vieira, Elvelyn Treweek and Alice Pacheco; surviving sisters Dorothy Lenihan and Beatrice Cook; she also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral services were private from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church on November 2nd. Entombment at Notre Dame Cemetery. www.rogersfuneral.com.
