Stella Mae Roberson Alligood, 77, of Tifton died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. John Powell will officiate with burial to follow in Sumner Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 23, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Alligood was born on January 11, 1936 in Jacksonville (Telfair County) and was the daughter of Odell Roberson and Sallie Pittman Roberson, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Julian Thompson; her second husband, Luthern Alligood; one daughter, Joyce Thompson; one great-grandson, Christopher Oates; two brothers; and one sister. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Alligood is survived by her children and their spouses, Jenny and Keith Smith of Tifton, Priscilla and Carlton Souter of Poulan, Lamar and Debra Thompson of Poulan, Sue and Joe Tribulak of Sylvester, Jordy Alligood of Sylvester, Tommy Ray and Carolyn Alligood of Farmington, Missouri and Renee Alligood of Hawkinsville; four brothers, Thomas Roberson of Roberts, Ricky Moon of Flowery Branch, Robbie Moon of Lawrenceville and Randy Moon of Oakwood; two sisters, Carne Brister of Flowery Branch and Kristy Pace of Loganville; 24 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
