James N. Earle, 74, of Kittery, ME died Sat., November 16th at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
Jim grew up and was educated in Georgetown, MA. He was a member of Riverside Military Academy, Class of 1957. He was a graduate of Perley High School in Georgetown, MA. Jim was also a graduate of FINE Mortuary College and he held his Funeral Director’s license in both Maine and New Hampshire. He was employed by Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home.
Jim was a 45 year active member of St. John’s Church in Portsmouth, NH where he was one of the founding members of the memorial walkway. He was a member of the Charles C. Dame Masonic Lodge in Georgetown, MA, a member of the Georgetown Chapter #176 OES and a member of the Piscataqua Chapter #90 OES in Kittery, ME. Jim was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed gardening and helping his neighbors. He and his wife brought up many foster children.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ruth (Kent) Murphy and Norman Earle and his sister, Marion Maurer.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Judith (Thompson) Earle of Kittery, ME; his 3 children, James Jr. and his wife Jessie of West Deptford, NJ, Jeffrey and his wife Maria of Clarks Summit, PA and Joyce and her husband Michael McCluskey; his siblings, Ruth Green of Georgetown, MA, Dorothy McNatt of Valrico, FL and Charles Earle of Canton, MA, his step-father, William Murphy of Riverview, FL, his stepsister, Margaret Anthony of Newton, MA and his 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Stephanie and Justin Earle and Sadie McCluskey and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 10:00 -11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 10 Chapel St., Portsmouth, NH.
