Taeha An, age 45, a research scientist with Novartis in Cambridge and resident of Marlborough, died early Tuesday morning, November 19, 2013, at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland after fighting cancer.
Born in Seoul, Korea, he was a son of Jay Ho An and Kuk Ja Kim, and settled with his family in Houston at the age of 9. Taeha was a graduate of Alief Elsik High School and continued his education at Baylor University. He earned his Masters of Science at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
Taeha was employed in pharmaceutical research specializing in projects involving protein synthesis. After many years of working at Tanox Research in Texas, he accepted his current position at Novartis and moved to Massachusetts. Athletic by nature, Taeha had excelled at playing football while in high school and had recently enjoyed golf and sailing when his schedule allowed.
He is survived by his beloved parents who currently reside in Corona, CA; his friend and brother, Tae An (Linda White) of Houston, TX; and his loving sister, Taemi Kim (John Malone) of Eastvale, CA. Devoted uncle of Kylie, Jamie, Lauren, and Alina, he is also survived by a large and caring extended family.
His funeral service will be held in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Saturday, November 23rd at 11:00a.m. Relatives and friends may visit with the An Family beginning at 10:00a.m. Burial will be private.
