Barbara Lee (Needelman) Alexander passed away on October 9, 2013 with her loving husband, son, and daughter by her side.
Barbara was raised and educated in Portland, Maine. She received her nursing degree at Malden Hospital where she worked in birth and labor as well as a visiting nurse in the community for many years. Barbara was involved with the Junior Aid, president of Little League and worked as a school nurse. She loved nursing and was known for her caring and compassion for people and her flashing smile. Her primary focus was her family and friends.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her husband Daryl of 63 years. She was the beloved mother of Bari-Ann Crivello and her husband Victor of Stoneham and Glenn Alexander and his wife Diane of Reading. Barbara was the sister of Marilyn Jacobson of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, Jo-Ann Johnson and her husband Frank of Scarborough, Maine and Naples, Florida, Ann Cohen of Boca Raton, Florida and Mark Needelman of Portland, Maine. She was the cherished grandmother of Christian, Elizabeth, Scott and the late Victoria Rose. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to honor and remember Barbara’s life by gathering at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Monday, November 25th from 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. followed by a service at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Larry Starr officiating. Interment of ashes will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
