South Lawrence - Jacqueline S. (Devaux) Leone, 85 died Thursday November 14, 2013 at the Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Thomas A. Leone.
Survivors also include her daughter Danielle Noble and her significant other Paul Capone of Hudson, NH, her beloved grandson David M. Noble of Derry, NH and her Cockatiel named Honey. Brothers in law Joseph A. Leone, Jr. of Haverhill Gerald J. Leone of Methuen, sister in law Mary Lyons Johns of Newburyport and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brother in law John R. Leone and sister in law Carmella Mararian.
Jacqueline was predeceased by her parents Marcal and Alphonsine (Fleury) Devaux and 7 sisters all of France.
In her 20's she was employed as a nursing assistant at Versailles Hospital in France. She then met her future husband, Thomas A. Leone who was a member of the Allied Military Police working aside the French Gendarmerne and the British Royal Military Police at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers of Europe in Paris, France. It was love at first sight. Despite the language barrier they found away to communicate. They married at the Notre Dame, Versailles March 11, 1958 and came back to Methuen, Ma. to start their life together.
She had a passion for cooking and scratch tickets. Her greatest love was her grandson David.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday morning at 11 o'clock in Saint Lucy's Church in Methuen.
Friends will be warmly received on Sunday from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen.
