Hortense (Tavares) Hagan, age 89 of Fall River, passed away Nov. 15, 2013 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late John William Hagan Jr. and the daughter of the late Antone & Maria da Luz (Rebello) Tavares. Prior to retiring, Hortense worked as a waitress in some of the local restaurants. She was the Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Dover Club.
She is survived by her children: John K. “Butch” Hagan of Somerset, Russell W. Hagan of Westport, Janice Medeiros & Mary Lou Wrightington both of Fall River; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Antone Tavares & Mary Fragoza.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on TUESDAY at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery.
