Maria A. (Gonsalves da Silva) Gouveia, age 92 of Fall River, passed away Nov. 14, 2013 at St. Anne’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jose P. Gouveia. Born in Rabo de Peixe, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Agostinho & Maria da Gloria (Oliveira) Gonsalves da Silva. She was a parishioner of Good Shepherd Church.
She is survived by her children: Jose Da Silva Gouveia of Somerset, Agostinho Da Silva Gouveia of Toronto, Gloria Gouveia of Fall River, Carolina Coutenho of Fall River, Maria Jose Estrela of Toronto, & Honorina Da Silva Raposo of Fall River; sisters: Candida Pereira of Toronto & Honorina Dutra of Vancouver; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; and nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Marcelino Gonsalves da Silva, Maria Dos Anjos Grillo, Conceicao Baroso, and Maria Paxão.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME INC, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on TUESDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Good Shepherd Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours MONDAY 5-9 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
