Obituary

Quentin N. Reisch, 81, of 11 Corbin Ave., Gorham, NH passed away on Thursday November 14, 2013 at his home. He was born in Berlin, NH on November 25, 1931 the son of the late Albert and Anna (Michaud) Reisch. “Quennie” graduated from Gorham High School with the Class of 1950. In 1952, he enlisted in the U. S. Naval Air Force where he served aboard the U.S.S. Bennington aircraft carrier (Fighter Squadron 13) during the Korean War. He was able to visit Hong Kong and many places in Asia while on leave. He was discharged from the service at the San Francisco Naval Station Treasure Island on February 20, 1956. While in the service in Pensacola, FL, he married the love of his life, Joyce E. Corrigan on October 11, 1952 in Jacksonville, FL with Raymond and Rita Lessard standing up for them. Upon returning to Gorham with their baby son, Russell, he worked at Resi-Chem on the Lancaster Rd with Joe Micucci and Walter Gilbert until they closed. He then worked at James River/Crown Vantage until his retirement in 1991.

He was an avid New England Sports Fan, in all five Boston sports. He could talk sports; any team, any player-past or present-for hours on end. We are all thankful that he got to watch the Patriots, the Bruins, the Celtics and especially the Red Sox win multiple Championships during his life. For many years, he coached and was the catcher for Roland Chabot’s Gorham Hardware softball team with his buddies; Nelson Lapierre, Eddie Drew, Bob Dandaneau, , Bobby Corrigan, Steve Lauze, Dave Lauze, Scott Lapierre and many others, including his son Russell. Also for many years, he enjoyed golfing at A.V.C.C.. One of his many pleasures was reminiscing about the Gorham Baseball team coached by “Doc” Johnson when they went to the Amateur Baseball World Series in Battlecreek, MI. Another enjoyment was bowling in Berlin, winning many trophies. He also loved playing cards, cribbage and buying scratch tickets.

Quinnie just loved people in general. He loved going to the casino and Gorham common to see the Tuesday evening concerts with his daughter, granddaughter and occasionally his great-grandchildren. Quinnie was a lifelong member of the American Legion and assisted in many functions for them, including marching in parades and working the chuck-a-luck at the Fourth of July Celebration. He will be sadly missed by his family and the many, many friends that he had. He touched many people’s lives.

He is survived by his son Russell and wife Laurie of Berlin; his daughter Laurie and her companion David Roy of Gorham; his grandsons Brandon and wife Katarina of Madison, NH and Shayne of Berlin; his granddaughters Stacey and her companion Mike Wach of Berlin and Holly (SR. Rouen) of Italy; his great-grandchildren Ivan Reisch and Anya Reisch of Groveton, NH; his brother-in-law Wallace Corrigan and wife Janet of Gorham; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Joyce on June 14, 2011, his brother Robert (Jack) Reisch in Dec. 2000 and his sister Corinne Gaddis in Dec. 1992). We would like to thank everyone that knew our Dad, for making his life very happy and very enjoyable and sharing life with him.
