Obituary

Rodi (Dimopoulos) Hatzopoulos, 99, of Worcester passed away peacefully Thursday, November 14th in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, with her loving family by her side.. Her husband, Dimitrios Hatzopoulos died in 1984. She is survived by her cherished family, her three daughters, Melanthi, Georgia and Theodora Hatzopoulos all of Worcester; a son, Polizois Hatzopoulos and his wife, Pashalina of Hrisohorafa, Serron, Greece; a sister, Hrisoula Bezas of Worcester; a grandson, Dimitrios Hatzopoulos and his wife Konstantina; three great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her daughter, Stergiani Dangos; a brother, Dimitrios Dimopoulos; and a sister, Maria Filippidis.
She was born in Saranta Ekklisies, Turkey the daughter of Christos and Georgia Dimopoulos. She moved to Greece in 1922 and immigrated to Worcester in 1978. Mrs. Hatzopoulos was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Rodi was a very loving and devoted mother to her children. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Her funeral is Monday November 18th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, November 17th from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral Family Center Fund, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
