Obituary

Marjorie A. (Foster) Raymond, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Sutton Hill Center in North Andover after a period of declining health. Marjorie was born on February 20th, 1932 to Kenneth and Margaret (Burke) Foster in Brockton, MA. She was educated at Saint John School in Canton MA and Dean College in Franklin, MA where she earned an A.S. degree in Business.
Marjorie worked as an Accounting and Finance professional for several companies and eventually retired in 1994 from Ciba Corning Diagnostics in Walpole, Ma after 30 years of continuous service.
Marjorie lived in eastern Massachusetts her entire adult life moving from Franklin to the Merrimack Valley to be closer to her children in 1998. The greatest joy of her life was attending to her “girls”, granddaughters Libby and Maggie. Most days she could be found picking them up from school and taking them to and from their various activities.
She had a lifelong passion for arts and crafts including painting and quilting. Marjorie was a member of several quilting groups over the years including the Merrimack Valley Quilters in Haverhill. In retirement, she spent more than 25 summers at Pinewood Lodge in Plymouth with family and friends as a seasonal camper.
She is survived by her son, Anthony J. Raymond and his wife Mary of North Andover; her granddaughters, Elizabeth (Libby) Raymond and Margaret (Maggie) Raymond also of North Andover; her sisters-in-law, Joanie Foster of Whitman MA and Anne Thomas of Elkton MD and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Massachusetts, Maryland and Delaware.
Marjorie was predeceased by her parents and her three brothers; Kenneth, William and Richard.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, November 18, from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s church at 10:00.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4:00-8:00.
