Harrison R. “Butch” Allen, Jr., age 70, of Brockton, passed away November 13, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Butch was born, raised and educated in Brockton, son of the late Harrison R. Allen, Sr. and Mary “May” (Corcoran) Allen. He worked as a cross-country truck driver for over fifty years, until his retirement in 1996. Butch enjoyed spending time with his family and beloved cat “Peas”, fishing, and working on anything mechanical, especially cars. He was also an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, never missing a game.
Butch is survived by his children, Tim Allen of Holbrook; Shirlene Allen of Middleboro; Sandy Allen of Woodstock, VA; Jim Allen and his wife Karen of Centerville; Bill Allen and his wife Gia of Ventura, CA; Susan Trask of Plainfield, CT; Jennipher Mikulski of Taunton and Jessica Klemp and her husband Jay of Onset; two sisters Peg Simmons of Brockton and Barbara Nash of Avon; 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Tommy Allen and brother of the late Patricia and Robert Allen.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte. 123) Brockton, Monday 5-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 10am. Please consider donations in Butch’s name to It’s All About the Animals, 103 Marion Road, Rochester, MA 02770.
