Edward Charles Kurker of Arlington passed away on November 13, 2013. He was 91 years old.
Edward was born in Boston on May 2, 1922 to Charles and Wedad (Rahwan) Kurker. He learned the electrical trade and joined the IBEW Local 103 at the age of 18. He would go on to work in electrical contracting for 45 years, retiring at the age of 63. In 1953 he and his wife Laurice relocated to Arlington. Edward's family was the most important part of his life. He especially loved being "Giddo" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edward was also a member of the Bethesda Lodge A.F & A.M., as well as the Retired Men's Club of Arlington.
Edward was the dear and devoted husband for 67 years of Laurice (Saideh) Kurker. Loving father of Kenneth E. Kurker and his wife Regina of Walpole, Karen K. Robbat and her husband Albert of Andover, and Gregory K. Kurker of FL. Dear Giddo of 4 grandchildren: Allyson Kurker, Daniel Kurker, Christopher Robbat, Alycia Robbat, and 4 great grandchildren: Sam, Ellie, Jack, and Grady. Loving brother of Joseph Kurker of Arlington, Mary Abdelahad of West Roxbury, and the late Charles Kurker. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Edward's Funeral Service was held November 18, 2013 at the Church of St. John of Damascus 300 West St. Dedham.
He was laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
