Harry Alva Williamson, 78, of Anderson passed away peacefully on November 13, 2013 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
He was born February 5, 1935 in Anderson to Herbert Eich and Marian Elizabeth (Chalfant) Williamson. He was a 1953 graduate of Anderson High School.
He proudly served in the 101st Airborne Division and 11th Airborne Division.
He was a design engineer at Delco Remy 39 years before retiring in 1992.
He was a member of East Lynn Christian Church, where he volunteered for the Food Pantry. He was a Red Coat at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital for 20 years.
He enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, reading and model airplanes.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Hasty) Williamson of Anderson whom he married June 19, 1955; son, Gregory Scott Williamson of Lexington, SC; daughter, Beth (Williamson husband John) Larson of Ely, IA; three grandchildren, Dane Michael Larson, Jill Christine Larson both of Ely, IA; Harry Andrew "Drew" Williamson of Lexington, SC; brother, Jack Williamson and sister, Mary Patricia Sheets; sisters-in-law, Alberta (Suzy) ; Lois; Margaret; Molly; Kay Sue and Pauline Williamson; Cynthia (Bud) Highbaugh; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Pat) Jarrell; Terry (Loretta) Hasty; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert, Mark, James, Herbert F., George, Charles and Richard Williamson and sister, Nancy Jarrell.
Service will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, November 18 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. Susan Cameron of East Lynn Christian Church officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 17 from 2 to 6 P.M. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Memorial gifts may be given to East Lynn Christian Church General Fund.
