Dorothy M. Najjar, 75

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Dorothy M. “Dotti” (Manson) Najjar, age 75, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Life Care Center in Attleboro. She was the devoted wife of the late Gerald A. Najjar, the love of her life, who died on January 18, 1986.
Born in Mansfield, MA on December 24,1937, she was a loving daughter of the late Alexander Manson, Sr. and the late Ruth (Benson) Booth and her husband Fred Booth. She grew up in Mansfield and was a graduate of Mansfield High School.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Najjar was the proud owner of Home Office, a company she started while in her fifties and operated out of her home in Mansfield for over 20 years. She had previously worked for many years at Fernandes Supermarket in Mansfield.
Dotti loved spending time with her adoring family and friends, and will always be remembered for her caring heart and wonderful sense of humor. Her hobbies included reading, knitting, crossword puzzles, time on her computer, and when younger was an avid golfer.
She is survived by her devoted and loving children, Gerald A. Najjar, Jr. of Mansfield and Kerrin B. Najjar-Hirshson of New Jersey. She was the dear sister of Helen Ramsey of Florida, Theodorica “Theo” Sousa of Attleboro, Mary-Lou Brown of Georgia, and the late Blanche Pantaleon, Caroline Bregnard and Alexander Manson, Jr. She was the cherished grandmother of Maxwell Gerald Hirshson and William Cole Hirshson. Mrs. Najjar is also survived by her very special “second sons” Brian Eagan and Mark Eagan, as well as many nieces and nephews and her dog Harry.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 18th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Dotti’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to Hospice, the Community Visiting Nurse Agency, Inc., 10 Emory St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
