Rose Marie (Buckley) Halligan, age 92, of West Roxbury, formerly of Wellesley and Dennis, died peacefully at home on November 11, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Robert F. Halligan. Loving mother of Susan M. Sullivan and her husband Daniel of Brookline and VT, Sheila M. Halligan of West Roxbury, Kevin P. Halligan and his wife Sheila of Marion, and the late Robert F. Halligan, Jr. Also survived by her much-loved grandchildren, Kristen, Anna, Rebecca, Kevin, and Bridget. She was the devoted daughter of the late Fred and Mary (MacElaney) Buckley, and the sister of the late Frances Thompson, Jean Ann Rizo-Patron, and Robert Buckley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, on Monday, November 18th at 10:00a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery. An Emmanuel College alumna, Rose Marie earned her M.Ed. at Harvard University. She enjoyed her work as a reading specialist in the greater Boston area, ultimately retiring from the Dennis-Yarmouth Schools.
