Arthur L. Romano, Sr.
Retired Boston Area Electrician
TEWKSBURY: Arthur L. Romano, Sr., age 86, a resident of Tewksbury for over 40 years, formerly of Somerville and Cambridge, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital on Sunday evening, November 10, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of Theresa M. (Hill) Romano, who passed away on December 30, 1999.
Born in Cambridge on August 30, 1927, he was the son of the late Oreste and Giacomina(Stella) Romano.
Arthur was raised in Cambridge and attended St. Francis Parochial School.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as an Electrician for several major electrical companies in the Boston area and throughout New England.
Mr. Romano enjoyed traveling, especially to visit with his children, gardening, and tinkering with his family's cars.
He is survived by four sons, Arthur L. Romano, Jr. and his wife Susan of Simpsonville, SC, Michael A. Romano and his wife Jody of Saratoga, NY, Thomas J. Romano and his wife Patricia of Memphis, TN, and David J. Romano of Northport, AL; five daughters, Jennie M. Wargo and her husband Bryan of Sebago, ME, Lorraine Stromberg and her husband Peter of Ocean Springs, MS
Carol Cobb and her husband Michael of Northport, AL, Jacqueline Forgeron of Shrewsbury, MA, and Theresa Chick and her husband Michael of Moultonboro, NH. He also leaves twenty-four grandchildren including Nicole Hutcheon of Tewksbury; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Arthur was pre-deceased by five brothers and one sister.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Nov. 14, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will be held Friday, Nov. 15, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Oblate Novitiate, 486 Chandler St., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
