Raymond E. Gilson III, 73, formerly of San Diego, CA, died Thursday, November 7 at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Rose A. (Landry) Gilson. Mr. Gilson was born in Providence, the son of the late Raymond Gilson Jr. and Ruth (Carson) Gilson. He was a dispatcher for Avis for fifteen years before retiring in 2008. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters; Robin Gilson of San Diego, CA, Rae-Ellen Larkin of N. Providence, Dawn Ouellette and her husband David of Woonsocket, Kelly Campbell and her husband David of Manchester, NH, and Rachel Gilson of Woonsocket, twelve grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by two sisters; Sharon Millison of North Platt, NE, and Ruth Finklestein of El Cajon, CA.
His funeral will be held at Thursday, at 9:00AM in the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Slatersville. Visiting hours will be Wednesday evening 5-7PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM.
