Obituary

Sr. Jacqueline Hebert, CSC (Sr. Mary Suzanne of the Cross), 91, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, died November 10, 2013 at Holy Cross Health Center in Manchester.
She was born in Westport, MA on March 1, 1922 to Arthur and Suzanne (Redon) Hebert. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1939 and made her final profession in 1946. She served the Congregation for 74 years.
Sr. Jacqueline earned a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame College in Manchester and a master’s degree in philosophy from Boston College, where she also did post graduate studies. She also did post graduate studies at Rivier College in Nashua, St. Michael’s College in Vermont and Boston University.
She taught in elementary and secondary schools in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and taught philosophy and education at Notre Dame College. She also worked several years as diocesan secondary education consultant for the Diocese of Manchester, 13 years as director of religious education at St. Mary’s Parish in Newmarket, and 24 years at Nativity Parish in Brandon, FL where she initiated an evangelization program.
She retired to St. George Manor in Manchester in 2011 and recently transferred to Holy Cross Health Center.
The family includes six nephews, two nieces and seven cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, November 14, 2013 in the chapel of St. George Manor. Committal prayers followed at St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech Street, Manchester.
