Obituary

CHICOPEE - Claire J. (Guay) Lussier, 92, a former resident of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at the Loomis House in Holyoke surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on May 15, 1921, a beloved daughter of the late Napoleon and Evelina (Lamay) Guay. She lived in the Willimansett and Aldenville sections of Chicopee before moving to Somers, Connecticut in 1962. She was employed for many years as a bank teller at various banks in the area. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and All Saints Church in Somersville, Connecticut. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Armand H. Lussier who was Called Home on October 25, 2001. She leaves her dear brother and sister-in-law, Roland H. Guay and his wife, Mary, of Cupertino, CA; her dear nephew, Richard Hanson and his wife, Cathy, of Waldorf, MD; and her dear niece, Carol Sabonis and her husband, Peter, of Riverview, FL. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear brother and sister-in-law, Marcel L. Guay and his wife, Cecile; and her dear sister, Pearl Hanson. A visiting hour will be held on Thursday morning, November 14, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visiting hour on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
