WEST BROOKFIELD - Yvette G. (Boisselle) Lafleur, 97, of West Brookfield and a former resident of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at Quaboag on the Common in West Brookfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Montreal, P.Q., Canada on September 29, 1916, a beloved daughter of the late Jean Baptiste and Agnes (Coupal) Boisselle. On March 1, 1923, Yvette came with her family from Canada in a horse drawn wagon by way of Rouses Point, New York on Lake Champlain and settled in Chicopee where they raised their family. In 1948, Yvette and her late husband, Harold, purchased a home on Britton Street in the Fairview section of Chicopee where she lived until moving to the Arbors on Memorial Drive in Chicopee in 2000. She was a loving homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. Following the passing of her beloved husband, Harold, Yvette was employed until the age of 81 at the Janlynn Company in Indian Orchard. She was a member of the Willimansett American Legion Post 353 Ladies Auxiliary and a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee where she was a member of the Saint Anne Sodality Guild. Besides her parents and five brothers and four sisters, she was also predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Harold F. Lafleur who was Called Home on September 16, 1972; her dear son-in-law Donald Vetter; and her dear daughter-in-law, Mary Lafleur. She leaves her loving children, Henry R. Lafleur and his wife, Carla, of Montgomery, MA, Claire A. Gingras and her husband, Edmond, of Belchertown, Dr. William R. Lafleur and his wife, Bonnie, of Milford, MA, Hazel A. Lafleur-Vetter, PhD, of Media, PA, Dr. Roger C. Lafleur and his wife, Donna, of Brookfield, MA, and Lt. Commander Philip H. Lafleur of Silver Spring, MD; her 20 cherished grandchildren; her 15 cherished great-grandchildren; her dear sister, Marie-Anne Sawyer of Agawam; and her many dear nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and cousins. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley. There are no visiting hours. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
