Coy Lasseter, 87, of Tifton died Sunday, November 10, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Curtis Watson will officiate with burial to follow in Pineview Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery. Billy Hancock, Al Dube, Tony McBrayer, Travis Lassiter, Ricky Bromlow and Robbie McBrayer will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Lasseter was born on June 28, 1926 in Cook County and was the son of Raiford Lasseter and Eunie Easters Lasseter, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one son, Norman Lasseter; two brothers; and six sisters. He retired from Tifton Aluminum Company and attended Pineview Holiness Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and was known for cutting firewood and making cane syrup.
Mr. Lasseter is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Fendley Lasseter of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Pete Massey of Tifton; three grandchildren, Janena Barbaree, Daniel Lasseter and Nickie Lasseter; and one great-grandson, Caleb Barbaree.
