Muriel Rose Germaine (Boisvert) LeDoux, 87, of New Bedford passed away November 10, 2013 peacefully at home after a period of declining health. She was the loving wife of Paul M. LeDoux.
Born on April 18, 1926 in New Bedford, the daughter of the late George and Georgiana (Picard) Boisvert, she resided in New Bedford and also Jensen Beach, FL for many years.
Muriel was formerly employed at Aerovox and waitressed at several local restaurants. She along with her husband, Paul, owned and operated Marc’s Sea Grille in New Bedford and Frates Drive-In in Buzzards Bay, MA.
Muriel loved spending time with her family and living in Florida. She also loved camping, playing cards, the casinos and bocci.
Her family would like to thank Muriel's loving caregivers and the Overlook VNA and Hospice for the loving care that she received.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; two daughters Carol Sherman and her husband Thomas of New Bedford and Paula Desorcy and her husband Leo of East Freetown; her four grandchildren, Kimberly Saunders and her husband Christopher of New Bedford, Carl Sherman and his wife Jodi of Acushnet, Jason Desorcy of East Freetown and Kelley Sears and her husband Jamie of Dartmouth; and six loving great-grandsons, Jack, Benjamin and Ryan Saunders, Lucas Sherman, Nicholas and Nathan Sears; two sisters, Yvette Clerc of New Bedford, MA and Doris Allain of New Bedford; her brother, Dr. Roger Boisvert of West Springfield, MA; and many nephews and nieces.
She was the sister of the late Lauretta Beaulieu, Maurice and Leo Boisvert.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Wednesday, November 13th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church at 9:15 AM. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, November 12th from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Overlook Hospice, 41 State Rd., Dartmouth, MA 02747.
