Raffaela (DeFazio) Arcari, of Medford, died Saturday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was 83.
Mrs. Arcari was born in Sambiase, Italy, the daughter of the late Luigi and the late Felicia DeFazio. As a young woman she came to the United States and lived in Boston’s North End.She settled in Medford sixty years ago. She was a dedicated wife and mother who was devoted to caring for her children and grandchildren.
She was the beloved wife of the late John F Arcari. She was a devoted mother to John J. Arcari and his wife Patricia of Medfield, Angelo F. Arcari and his wife Katherine of McLean, VA, Phyllis Bates and her husband William of Frederick, MD, Elaine Fraser and her husband Joseph of Malden, Dennis Arcari of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to 15 and great-grandmother to 1. She was a dear sister to Mary Federico of Dedham. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Clement Church, Medford, Wednesday at 9 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.Relatives and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford Tuesday from 4 to 8.
