Marion I. Anderson, 94, formerly of Londonderry, NH died November 7, 2013 in Maine General Medical Center, Augusta, ME. Marion was born in E. Columbia, NH on August 7, 1919, a daughter of the late Alpheus and Catherine (Martin) Frizzell. In more recent years she moved to Kents Hill, ME to live with her daughter. Marion had been a resident of Londonderry since 1944, formerly living in Columbia where she attended schools, including Colebrook Academy. She was a graduate of Keene Teachers College and taught at numerous schools in NH. Marion was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Ransford Chapter #15 and the Mizpah Rebekah Lodge #15, both of Derry. She was the recipient of the Golden Sheaf certificate at the Londonderry Grange #44. While in Londonderry, Marion served as former Town Clerk and Tax Collector, and administered the School Lunch program for the Londonderry Central School. She served on the School Board in Londonderry in addition to the Library and Cemetery Trustees.
She is survived by two sons, Wilfred C. Anderson and his wife Suzanne of Sandown, NH, Daniel R. Anderson and his wife Lynn of Sandown, three daughters, Mary Ann Lamothe and her husband Gerard of Londonderry, Joan A. Cook and her husband Richard of Kents Hill, ME, and Betty A. Simpson of Etna, WY, 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one sister, Emily Floyd of Farmington, ME, one brother, Clarence Frizzell of Colebrook, also numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Anderson, Jr. in 1997.
Calling hours were held on Thursday November 14, 2013 from 6 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services were held on Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery, Londonderry. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
