Ruth E. (Lyons) Towle, age 95, of Dover, NH, formerly of Brockton, died November 6, 2013 at her home. She was the wife of the late William J. Towle. Born and raised in Hopkinton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick H. and Sarah E. (McWilliams) Lyons. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Milford, class of 1935, and had been a resident of Lynn for ten years before moving to Brockton in 1955. She enjoyed bowling and reading, and while living in Brockton, was a communicant of St. Patrick Church.
Her time in Dover, NH was spent with her family, enjoying Sunday dinners, backyard barbecues, talking politics with her nephews, trips up North, shopping and lunch dates with her nieces. She was a joy to her family, often sharing stories of family history and her life with Uncle Bill.
Ruth is survived by a sister, Margaret M. Calo of NH and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Alice T. Latour, Dorothy M. Turner, and John Lyons.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday 3-6pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9am for a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church at 10am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
