Obituary

Maggie Lee Stembridge Ward, 93, of Tifton passed away at her home on Friday, November 8, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013, at Mount Calvary United Methodist Church. Rev. Ronnie Howell will officiate with burial to follow in Mount Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery. Audie Bailey, Charles Swain, James Walker, Jay Fain, Jay Phillips, Alex Seigler, Chip Seigler and Kurt Seigler will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 10, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Ward will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Ward was born on December 28, 1919 in Tift County, where she lived her entire life. Her parents were John Wesley and Bessie Goodman Stembridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Wilson McDuffie Ward, who passed away in 2003. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, nine brothers, three sisters and many dear friends. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Calvary United Methodist Church in Tifton.

Mrs. Ward is survived by four children and their spouses, Betty Jean (Floyd Everett) Bailey, Clarice (Jimmy) Phillips, Donnie (Ramona) Ward and Ray Ward. Surviving grandchildren are Audie (Susan) Bailey, Dawn (Jimmy) Fain, Kim (Kurt) Seigler, Dr. Jay (Leigh) Phillips and Mandi Ward. Great-grandchildren are Maggie Bailey, Taylor Bailey, Jay Fain, Chip Seigler, Alex Seigler, Hayden Phillips anhd Reid Phillips.
