Carl R. Helger, 81, of Tiverton, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Village House in Newport. He was the husband of Florence M. (Lincourt) Helger to whom he was married for 59 years.
Born in Tiverton, son of the late George E. and Mary S. (Silvia) Helger, he was a lifelong resident of the town. Mr. Helger was a veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the United States Navy. Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a carpenter out of Fall River. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Casey.
Survivors along with his beloved wife include his daughter Carlene H. Baechtold and her husband Fred of Middletown, RI; his brother: Alvin Helger of Tiverton; his granddaughter Casey; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Raymond, Harry, George E., Arthur F., Edward A., Norman J., Donald M., Alfred, Sr., and Francis Helger as well as Mary Crites, Alice C. Manchester, Flora M. Vaz and Mildred Helger.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, November 11, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Hillside Cemetery, Tiverton.
