Obituary


Evans – Mr. Robert Hugh Loner III went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eddie Bradford officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Robert, a native of Augusta, was born in Frog Hollow on March 31, 1938. He retired from the Army National Guard after 20 years of service, and also retired from Columbia County Animal Control. He worked in the Clearwater Finishing Plant Color Shop until the plant closed. He was a member of Lewis Memorial UMC, and enjoyed attending the Grovetown Senior Center and playing bingo. He was also a member of VFW 3200, American Legion Post 192. He’ll be remembered as a beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

He is survived by one son, Robert Hugh Loner IV and wife, Sharon, his daughter, Tonya Mitchell and husband, Mitch, his sisters, Jerry Stukas and husband, Richard, Joan Hutchison, Ponda Lewis and husband, Vernon, his grandchildren, Janda Loner, Joshua Loner, Patrick Loner, Megan Smith and Ryan McIntyre, his great grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua and Jada, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Bargeron Loner, and his parents, Robert Hugh and Pasty Loner.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and especially Sarah Meyer.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, November 7, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
