Imelda Rys, 90, formerly of Griswold entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. She was married to her devoted husband, Anthony, for 62 years. He predeceased her in February, 2009.
Mel moved, in early 2011, closer to the home of her daughter, Janice, son-in-law Glenn and grandson Perry Frink of Mystic. She resided at the Mystic River Homes Congregate in Noank, where she became re-engaged in life, making many new friends, enjoying activities and where her overall health improved, until recently. The goal was for her to be safe and happy, which was accomplished.
A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone at the Congregate, the compassionate health care providers at Beechwood Manor, her family and long-time friends who maintained contact with her. Mel will be missed by many and remembered for her amicable nature and her fondness of animals.
