Irene Christine White Anderson, 80, of Ben Hill County, Georgia, died Monday, November 4, 2013, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, November 7, 2013, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Ben Hill County with the Rev. Steve Hand officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Anderson was born December 10, 1932, in Wilcox County to the late M. M. and Vinnie Lee Baughcum White. She was a 1950 graduate of Mystic High School. She was a former employee of University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia and later worked at Tift Regional Hospital as a C.N.A. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she directed training union, assisted on the bereavement committee and visited the homebound for the church.
She is survived by two daughters: Donna and Rev. David Biggers of Fitzgerald and Judy and Rickey Latham of Ocilla; a son: Donald Morgan, Sr. and Jeannie Anderson of Fitzgerald; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two sisters: Pearl Hall of Atlanta and Betty Avery of Atlanta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Lucius “Don L.” Anderson; daughter: Sue Anderson Perry; one brother: D.C. White and two sisters: Minnie Guinn & Mildred Rogers.
