Mary P. (Yess) Tanona, 90, of Worcester died Monday, November 4th in St. Camillus Nursing Center. She leaves two sons, Dennis J. Tanona and his wife, Gloria of Whitinsville and Jeffrey A. Tanona of Worcester; two sisters, Dorothy Whiting of Worcester and Josephine Kangas of Holden; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Paula M. Tanona, who died in 2008 and a grandson.
She was born in Beverly the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Madugno) Yess. Mary worked at Worcester State Hospital for many years as a case worker and an aide. She was a member of the former St. Charles of Borromeo Church and of the Tatnuck American Legion Post 288 Ladies Auxiliary.
Her funeral is Friday, November 8th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Friday from 9:30 until 10:30 in the funeral home.
