Elsie "Lee" M. Richter Vermillion
Elsie "Lee" (Richter) Vermillion, 85, Anderson died November 1, 2013,
in her home after a brief illness.
She was born in Astoria, New York City, July 22, 1928. Lee
grew up in New York and lived in Chicago before settling
in Anderson with her husband, Rex, who she was married to
for 33 years.
Lee was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and served on
the AARP Board. She was a dedicated volunteer giving many
hours of service to Community Hospital, the Paramount
Theater and her church. She had a special place in her heart
for the House of Hope. She was a frequent visitor to friends
in local nursing homes. Lee loved movies, Good’s Candy Shop
and the Colts.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Cary (husband Bruce) of Tipton, Iowa
and Linda Donohue (husband Robert Bush) of Truckee, California;
four grandsons, Brad Cary, Seth Cary, Zachary Bush and Matthew Bush;
three great-grandchildren, Hannah Cary, Ella Cary and Landon Cary and
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Vermillion; a sister,
Lucille Richter; a brother Theodore Richter and her parents
Otto and Mary (Kvopka) Richter.
Services will be Friday, November 15, 2013 at 2PM at Christ Lutheran Church in Anderson. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
