Mrs. Mara died unexpectedly Thursday evening at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth after being stricken ill at her home. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, daughter of the late John J. and Mary A. (Dowd) McAuliffe. She was raised in Brockton and was a graduate of St. Patrick High School. And the former Williams Business School.
For the past 15 years she has been a resident of Halifax previously living in Brockton. When living in Brockton she was employed by Old Colony Elderly Services. Since her retirement she and her husband have been volunteers for the Meals-on-Wheels program in Halifax.She enjoyed traveling and time spent with her grandchildren. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lake Church, Halifax.
