WEBSTER – Charles J. Poplawski, Jr., 84, of 28 Greystone Avenue, died Saturday, September 25, in Webster Manor.
He leaves his wife of 55 years, Alice R. (Sgariglia) Poplawski; a daughter, Linda A. Paquette and her husband David of Webster; a son, James M. Poplawski of Mesa, Arizona; a brother, Edward Poplawski, and a sister, Helen Ostrokolowicz, both of Webster; 6 grandchildren, a great granddaughter, and nephews and nieces.
He was born in Webster, son of Charles J. Poplawski, Sr. and Rose (Horonezewicz) Poplawski, and was a lifelong resident. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 148th Infantry Regiment.
Mr. Poplawski was an upholsterer at Ethan Allen Company in Dudley for 35 years, retiring in 1982. Before that, he worked at Worcester Bakery, a family business.
He was a member of Saint Louis Church. He enjoyed all sports.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, September 28, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in SaintJoseph Garden of Peace. A calling period will be from 8:15 to 9:15 Tuesday morning at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial donations be made to either the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, 17 East Main Street, or to Saint Louis School Endowment Fund, 15 Lake Street, both in Webster, MA 01570
