Obituary

BEVERLY: Genevieve F. “Jenny” Jefgood, 90, died Monday, November 4, 2013 in the Essex Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John S. Jefgood who died in 2006.
Born in Peabody on August 13, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Kazimierz and Maria (Troyak) Suchecki. Jenny grew up in Peabody, resided in Danvers from 1950- 1980 before moving to Seabrook, NH for nineteen years and returned to Peabody in 2009. She was a graduate of Peabody High School and Beverly Hospital School of Nursing.
Jenny was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Beverly Hospital for several years. She was also a former member of St. Joseph’s Church in Peabody and was an avid bingo player.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jan F. and Maureen Jefgood of Beverly; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Edward Kalapinski of Harrison, Maine and Jayne and Mark Bassett of Saratoga Springs, New York; six grandchildren, Lisa McDonald and her husband, Joseph, Erik Kalapinski and his wife, Laurie, Jan Jefgood, Jr. and his wife, Rachel, Jaclyn Braga and her husband, Anthony, Mark Bassett and his wife, Ayami and Olivia Bassett; two great-grandsons, David and Jake McDonald; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Adam “Ed” and Shirley Suchecki of Florida and Lorraine Suchecki of New Jersey and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by four brothers, Frank, Joseph, John and Chester Suchecki.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Fisher House Foundation, 1400 VFW Parkway, W. Roxbury, MA 02132 or to the Wounded Warrier Project, 1120 G Street NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005.
