OLD ORCHARD BEACH MAINE: Ruth P. (Orser) Hare, 96, of Castine Drive died Sunday, Nov. 3 in Notre Dame Du Lac in Worcester.
Her husband Clifton J. Hare died in 2012. She leaves a son Stephen C. Hare and his wife Dianne of Leicester, 7 grandchildren Sherri Ferguson, Michael Hare, Tracey Christopher, Gary Hare, Diane Hare, Mathew Hare and Julie Mars, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Bud Hare of Portland, ME and great-nephew Peter Greene and his wife Kathy of Buxton, ME. She was pre-deceased by a son Gary W. Hare, brothers Harold, Daniel, Herbert and Claude Orser and sisters Marguerite McKenney, Rose Orser, Anne Orser, Marion Orser and Ida Orser.
Mrs. Hare was born in Hartland, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of Moses and Mary (Langley) Orser. She was an amazing cook and could prepare a wonderful meal at a moments notice; she was affectionately called “Julia Childs” by her neighbors. She loved spending time with her family.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 7 at 9:30 AM in Greenville Baptist Church, 684 Pleasant Street, Rochdale. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco, Maine. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 PM in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to One Mission, P.O.
