Marion C. (Cahill) Dutra, age 93, of Brockton, died peacefully, Sunday November 3, 2013 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. She was the wife of the late Anthony J. “Mike” Dutra, Jr. Born in Boston, she was raised in Dorchester, daughter of the late Daniel S. and Helen G. (Flynn) Cahill. Marion was a graduate of Girls English High School and the Stratford Business School in Boston. For many years she had been employed in the Payroll Department of Edgar’s Department Store and Brockton Public Market. An avid bowler, she was a member of both Westgate Lanes and Braintree Bowling Leagues and a longtime member of AARP. She also enjoyed knitting, reading, gardening and traveling with her husband.
Marion is survived by her children Patricia Sweeney of Marshfield, Denise Pease and her husband George of Middleboro, Karen Gonya and her husband Dean of Woolrich, PA, Michelle Cavanaugh and her husband Michael of Pembroke and Michael Dutra and his wife Dawn of Brockton; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Helen Knox and Ethel Minsk.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 4-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Thursday at 8am for a funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 9am. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
