Obituary

Phyllis D. (Campbell) Hauptman of Franklin, formerly residing in Venice, FLA and Ashland, died on November 2nd, 2013 at age of 92 in Newburyport. She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Charles B. Hauptman.

She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Carol Leigh and Alfred G. Clifford, Rowley and Janet Ruth and John H. Reardon, Medway, six grandchildren, Keith Charles Jones of Boston; Alfred “Skip” Clifford of Newbury; Christopher Campbell Clifford of Newburyport; John Henry Reardon of Brighton; Tiffany Leigh (Reardon) Kairit and husband, John Kairit of Medway and Lindsay Ann Reardon, of Medway and three great-grandchildren, Sadie Jane Clifford and Alfred Asher Clifford of Newbury and Isabelle Leigh Kairit of Medway. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Baker, a nephew, James Baker and family and niece, Leslie Baker, all of Meredith, NH.

Born in Lowell to the late James and Hazel (Richardson) Campbell, she was raised in Framingham. She was a graduate of Framingham High School where she and a fellow student wrote the lyrics and music for the song of their graduating class. Following years of study in the Faelton Music System and after high school graduation, she pursued her study of piano at Faelton School of Pianoforte as a classical music student of piano. She attended South Middlesex College of Business. Phyllis, a charter member of the Framingham Assembly Order of Rainbow for Girls served as Worthy Advisor as well as Mother Advisor. She was also a member of the Framingham Eastern Star.

While raising her family in Ashland, she was employed as Office Supervisor in the New England Division of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. She and her husband retired to Florida where she was a member of Ladies Oriental Shrine in Sarasota and a volunteer at the Venice Regional Hospital, Venice, FLA. She loved playing the piano, sewing, painting and enjoyed many camping trips with her husband and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Thursday, November 7 at 11:30 a.m.in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
