TAUNTON - Ronald L. “Ron” DeMoranville, 70, resident of Taunton, died October 30, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Ronald was born July 31, 1943 in Taunton, MA, a son to the late Jesse N. and Inez L. (Westgate) DeMoranville.
Educated in Taunton schools, Ron worked early in his career as an orderly, in the Morton Hospital Emergency Room.
He also worked at Taunton State Hospital as a Mental Health Worker and Licensed Practical Nurse, for 35 years until his retirement.
Not one to be idle, Ron continued to work post retirement at various local nursing homes, ending his years of service at Nemasket Nursing Home.
He loved entertaining family, cooking for an army, country music, gardening, winning on his scratch tickets and the occasional trip to Foxwoods with his sister Roseanne.
He was a compassionate, generous, loving and humorous father and friend, and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Doris M. (Johnson) DeMoranville, his children Ronald L. DeMoranville, Jr. and his wife Ann of Lakeville, Sherri DeMoranville of Taunton, Donna Caramanica and her husband Ronald of Lakeville, Terri-Lynn Clondas and her husband James of Taunton, 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by, his brother, Rodney N. DeMoranville of Florida, sister, Roseanne Pittsley of Lakeville, best friend and “brother” for 57 years, Leroy Richard Crossman, and special friend and neighbor Winnie LeCornec.
He was the brother of the late Anna DeMoranville, Leroy DeMoranville, Melvin DeMoranville, Aaron F. DeMoranville, Joan L. Wordell, Jesse H. DeMoranville, and James F. DeMoranville.
He was also the grandfather of the late Melissa DeMoranville.
The family is very appreciative of the loving care he received by Dr. Quadri and the Steward Morton Hospital Progressive Care Unit and his nurse, Kim from Beacon Hospice.
His funeral will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, November 6th at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Thompson Hill Cemetery, Lakeville, MA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 5th from 5 to 8 p.m.
