Delores S Hoefer, age 86 of Orlando, FL passed away on October 31, 2013.
A viewing will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Ivanhoe Chapel on Sunday, November 3rd from 12-2:30pm. Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in the New Valley Grove Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
She was born in Alapaha, GA and reared in Ocilla, GA. After graduation, she moved to Jacksonville, FL and joined the Bell System, later moving to Orlando, FL. She retired in 1982 with 37 years as a supervisor in the Accounting Department. She served as a member of the Executive Board of the local "Telephone Pioneers of America" Club for 21 years, holding several positions. She was a daughter of the late Ruel & Bessie Tucker Stripling, and a granddaughter of the late Elijah & Mary Alice Griffin Tucker. She was also preceded in death by brothers Jerone (Nancy), Ruel & Griffin, and husband William J Hoefer Sr.
She is survived by two sons William J Hoefer Jr. (Candis) and David (Diane) and four grandchildren, Rachel Enfinger, William J Hoefer III, Bradley Hoefer, and Elizabeth Hoefer, and four great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Delores will be missed by her loving family and the many friends she made through the years.
