Remembering the legacy of Navy veteran Robert W. Ragsdale
February 9, 1942 to October 31, 2013
Robert “Bill” or Sidekick” Ragsdale passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the age of 71, at the Robely Rex VA Medical Center.
Bill was a retired truck driver, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and a member of the Masonic Daylight Lodge #760 where he was a Master Mason.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert Darrell and Lillian Rebecca Ragsdale; a sister, Geraldine Gay; and a brother, Darrell Wayne Ragsdale.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife and true love of 50 years, Dana Ragsdale; three children, Dee Hicks (Dave), Shannon Ragsdale, and Mickie Ragsdale(Nic); eight grandchildren, Jade, Jesse, Stefen, Michaelangelo, Maya, Hannah, Lauren and Ruby; and two great grandchildren, Kaden and Kalleigh.
Bill will be cremated, however, donations can be made to help with medical bills to the family in care of Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway who is in charge of arrangements.
