TEWKSBURY - Charles H. O’Connell, age 91, died Thursday morning, Sept. 23, at theBlairehouse of Tewksbury after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Anna V.(MacPhee) O’Connell, who died in 1990.
He was born in Tewksbury, Dec. 1, 1912, one of ten children of the late Dennis and Zelia(Brabant) O’Connell, and was a lifelong Tewksbury resident.
He was employed by the Tewksbury Hospital as a driver, and retired in 1972 after 37 years ofservice to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
He was a member of the Tewksbury United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and his wife Trudy (Rogers) O’Connell ofPeabody; two grandchildren, Katherine and Kevin O’Connell of Peabody; and numerous niecesand nephews.
He was also brother of the late Paul, George, William, Arthur, Edward, and Louis O’Connell, EvaFleming, Maude Ackles, and Louise Barron.
Funeral Services were held Monday,Sept. 27, in the Tewksbury United MethodistChurch, So. Tewksbury. Interment was in Tewksbury Cemetery.
